The global energy transition and the artificial intelligence-driven revolution are accelerating an unprecedented demand for critical minerals. From the electrification of transportation to data centres supporting artificial intelligence, through renewable energy and the semiconductor industry, these resources have become essential to ensure economic competitiveness, energy security and technological development for the decades ahead.

In this context, the Iberian Peninsula assumes an increasingly relevant role in the European landscape. Portugal and Spain possess significant reserves of critical minerals, a privileged geographical location, strong logistics and industrial capacity, and an innovation ecosystem that positions them as strategic players in the value chain of mineral resources that will sustain the economy of the future.

However, the true challenge goes far beyond mineral extraction.

Europe seeks to consolidate a more resilient supply chain, reducing dependence on external markets and promoting a mining industry that is more competitive, sustainable and technologically advanced. To achieve this, it will be essential to invest not only in new mining projects, but also in optimising existing operations, increasing reserve recovery, improving industrial process efficiency and developing new engineering technologies.

It is precisely in this context that MMH, Mining and Minerals Hall 2026 assumes even greater importance.

This year's edition will bring together mining operators, investors, engineering companies, equipment manufacturers, research centres, universities, government entities and European organisations to discuss the future of mining on the continent and define strategies that enable Europe to position itself as a true strategic hub for critical minerals.

MMH 2024 Stands

More than discussing new mines, MMH will be a space to promote solutions that strengthen the entire European value chain, from mineral exploration and processing to technological development, process engineering and industrial innovation.

One of the major themes of this edition will be precisely how Europe can export not just raw materials, but also technology, knowledge, engineering and processes, helping to increase mineral reserve recovery, improve operational productivity and reduce the environmental footprint of the industry.

Sustainability will continue to be at the centre of discussions. The European mining industry faces the challenge of responding to growing global demand for critical minerals while simultaneously maintaining high environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards. Digitalisation, automation, process optimisation, energy efficiency and the circular economy will be fundamental topics for building a more responsible mining industry prepared for the decades ahead.

It is in this environment of innovation and collaboration that +NR will once again be present at MMH 2026.

At +NR, we support mining companies throughout all phases of asset development, from identifying opportunities to implementing expansion and operational improvement projects. Our experience spans Scoping Studies, Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA), Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), Feasibility Studies (FS), FEL, FEED, techno-economic assessments, technical due diligence, multidisciplinary engineering, project management (EPCM) and execution support.

We also work on optimising process facilities and existing operations, seeking to increase production capacity, improve metallurgical recovery, reduce operational costs, maximise asset availability and increase return on investment. Our experience includes Material Handling projects, crushing, grinding, mineral beneficiation, transport systems, industrial automation, instrumentation, process control, industrial facility expansion and operations modernisation, always with a focus on operational efficiency, sustainability and value creation for our clients.

One of +NR's main differentiating factors is our ability to act as a true international hub for engineering and innovation. With a multinational team and experience gained from projects developed in Europe, South America, North America and Africa, we promote knowledge transfer and technical solutions across different mining regions worldwide. We believe that many of the answers to the industry's current challenges can be found through intelligent adaptation of proven solutions in other markets.

This ability to "tropicalise" and adapt technologies, methodologies and international best practices enables us to introduce innovative solutions to Europe that have been developed for different geological, operational and industrial contexts, always adjusting them to the characteristics of each project, technical requirements, local conditions and the legislation of each country. Our objective is to challenge conventional approaches and develop out-of-the-box solutions, capable of overcoming technical obstacles, optimising processes, increasing mineral recovery, reducing energy and water consumption, minimising environmental impacts and maximising return on investment for our clients.

With international experience in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors, +NR adopts an integrated approach based on Systems Engineering, enabling us to bridge different disciplines, reduce technical risks, optimise schedules and support strategic decisions throughout the entire lifecycle of projects.

We believe that engineering will play a decisive role in enabling Europe to achieve its objectives of strategic autonomy in critical minerals. More than developing new projects, it will be fundamental to unlock the value of existing assets through innovation, international knowledge sharing and the application of sustainable engineering solutions that are economically viable and technologically differentiated. It is precisely this global vision that +NR brings to every project and that we will be pleased to share during MMH 2026.
